Can i get fit in five months?

Question: Can i get fit in five months?

So, I'm supposed to be going out of the country for a trip this summer, and I'm supposed to be hiking for most of it. I currently weigh about 250lbs, and I'm completely sedentary at this point. I'm 19, I work, I go home, I sleep. If I really put my mind to it, could I be fit by July?

Yes, research p90x or insanity, they are intense programs that can get you fit in 90 to 60 days. They have extreme proven results... you can find one of the sub work outs "ab ripper x " on google videos. There are some other ones available on this japanese site. You can use an add-on on mozilla to download the videos so you can keep them. Go to beachbodyfitness.com for more info. P90x can be bought on ebay used for $50-$70. It's a legit real program unlike those home made crappy routines that fail, this takes dedication!

Its possible. But 5 months is cutting it short. And unless you have the time and money for a really good physical trainer (and/ or dedication and motivation) it's lest likely. Loosing weight can be very hard, especially if you not used to a strict diet and workout regiment. Assuming your around the average height 5' 4 ", your weight should be 164, thats a difference of about 80 pounds. its possible to loose 15+ pounds a month but can be very hard.

Yeah absolutely. training for a marathon (23 mile run) only takes 4 months from square 1 to done. So you could absolutely get "fit " in 5 months. You have to workout 5 days a week though. And youre gonna be sore, so buy a big bottle of ibuprofin.

5 months is plenty of time to be fit by July, but honestly it depends on what you mean by fit. How many pounds do you want to lose? If you're trying to lose over 100 pounds you might be cutting it short with 5 months, but if you just want to be fit enough to go on the hike whether or not you lose many pounds then you have enough time. You have to put your mind to it, though. This is not going to be easy, and you WILL suffer through most of it. 250 pounds is a lot of weight to have and lose for an average person, but if you not only exercise but have a strict diet of good foods only then you can be fit enough for a hike by 5 months. Good luck.
